Please write to save Fulshear area - 2005/08/11 14:41
You know that nice, cool, lovely, shaded road which you catch going to the west from FM 1463, 3.5 miles south of FM 1093? That's Winner Foster Road.
Well, it could be plowed under to make room for I-69. Please write a letter indicating your desires using the instructions below, thank you.

Fellow cyclists:
The proposed I-69 highway project is currently being mapped out, and one of the routes being considered would destroy one of the more beautiful and accessible bike rides west of town.
At a meeting in Katy two weeks ago, a map was presented which showed the highway to include FM359 and Winner Foster. This route would destroy the beautiful loop on Winner Foster Road near Fulshear, which was used by many teams as a training ride for the MS 150.
As there are alternate routes being considered for I-69, you may send comments before Aug. 29 in order to help to preserve this beautiful route.
There is a form on the website: www.i69corridorstudy.com, or you can just write to: 1-69/TTC PO Box 14428 Austin, TX 78761 1-866-554-6989
The area of interest is SIU4. I am basically asking them to preserve the country roads on Winner Foster and FM359 that are well used cycling routes.
Thanks, and let any other cyclists know.
Elisa
