Officials: Alcohol May Be Involved In Fatal Bicycle Accident
Alcohol may have played a role in a deadly bicycle accident in northeast Harris County late Sunday night {May 23, 2004}
Carrol Keplinger, 61, died after a GMC Jimmy hit him around 11 p.m. in the 900 block of Freeport.
A friend walking along side the victim witnessed the accident.
Officials said the driver of the sport utility vehicle stopped to help, but the cyclist was already dead.
Harris County authorities found an open container of alcohol near the scene and suspect Keplinger had been drinking.
So far, no charges have been filed.
