Trek Antelope 820 & CyclePro Pocono - 2006/06/12 03:39 Hi Houston Bike aficionados. Question- I received these two bikes from a relative in Austin. Will cost me ~$130 each bike to tune up and get in top shape.
Is it worth it?

I don't want to make this sound like rocket science, it's not. Typically you can adjust the seat height, the seat fore/aft positioning, handle bars and stem height ( depending on style ). If you just want to pedal 3-4 miles at a time, most anything will do. If you want to train for something else, at least go shopping at the LBS ( Local Bike Shop ) and see how far that same $130 towards a new bike with the accessories you need, and the proper fit. There's a couple more pages of info at my site, www.fatmanonabike.com, browse on by and say Hi.
Happy pedaling!

Re:Trek Antelope 820 & CyclePro Pocono - 2006/08/08 15:47 Hi Anna, I don't know if this falls into the scope of what you want to do, but investing money in quality tools and learning how to do most bike maintenance operations yourself pays tremendous dividends over time... time savings, money savings, convenience, and pride. Think about it.
