MD Anderson Safe Rides - 2005/08/12 14:53 So hear I am in Houston for a 6 weeks worth of radiation, but my husband said he would send my bike from Tucson to here so I can ride. I am looking for a very safe place to ride from MD Anderson about 20 miles total to start off. Can anyone help me with directions, planning route, safety is required. My experience with riding in Tucson is that most of the streets have designated bike lanes, I don't see them here. Bummer. Any help would be appreciated.

Re:MD Anderson Safe Rides - 2005/08/12 18:59 Jacqueline Friedman is in the Medical Center, she can help you. Send her an email. Good luck with your radiation. You're at the best place in the world for your ailment.

Re:MD Anderson Safe Rides - 2005/08/15 23:05 The Brays Bayou Trail runs to the south of the Medical Center. The trail runs east to McGregor Park and west to Gessner. Total round trip is 27 miles. Its not road bike friendly but its fine on a hybrid or hard tail. Its all paved with the exception of a 100 yard stretch on Almeda that's currently under construction.
