Good 7.5 Mile Route through downtown - 2004/08/13 13:39 Thought I'd share my morning loop through downtown with everyone.
I start off near westheimer/Montrose:

1.) Duck into Avondale (1 blk north of westheimer) - less traffic and go east to Louisiana

2.) Proceed North on Louisiana through downtown (usually 1-2 stops for traffic - good time to get a sip)

3.) West on Congress, a Zig-Zag to Washington (a block left and a block north) all the way to Waugh over Memorial & Allen Parkway

4) Take Waugh south to Westheimer (Becomes Commonweatlth with a bike lane)

Rinse / Lather / Repeat - Round Trip is just at 7.45 miles.

Best Part of the ride - Sprinting down washington & smelling the Mrs. Baird's bakery every morning - Fresh bread baking - YUM!

Worst part - Riding over Memorial & Allen Parkway - smelling the bayou - sometimes it can make you retch. - Thankfully you dip down and get some speed over it pretty quick.

Enjoy!
