Cy-Fair 10th-grader on bike struck, killed by car

Zikariya Bin Yousaf, 15, was struck in the dark and rain by a motorist in the 10400 block of Huffmeister shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday, the Harris County Sheriff's Department reported.
Because of privacy laws, Cy-Fair school district officials declined comment today except to confirm Yousaf attended Cypress Falls.
Sheriff's accident investigators said the person who was driving the car that struck the boy said she did not see Yousaf. A witness told investigators the teen was wearing dark clothing and his bicycle did not appear to have any lights or reflective equipment.
Yousaf, 15, died shortly after the accident at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital, sheriff's spokesman Lt. John Martin said today.
Accident reports indicate that Yousaf, a 10th-grader, was on his way home after spending the night at someone else's home and was not on his way to school, sheriff's spokesman Lt. John Martin said today. Class begin at 7:30 a.m. at Cy-Fair high schools.
The teen suffered serious head injuries in the accident, Martin said.
An autopsy on Yousaf's body is scheduled today at the Harris County medical examiner's office.
Yousaf lived with his mother, Dianna M. Yousaf, acording to accident investigation reports. The mother was not available for comment..
