Fatality, Beltway and Wallisville - 2008/04/25 14:28
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- One person was hit and killed by a car off the Beltway overnight in northeast Houston.
The accident happened on the feeder of the Beltway and Wallisville around 12:35am. A man in his 20s to 30s hit was hit and killed while riding a bicycle on the feeder on the far right lane.
The driver originally left the scene and went to a nearby residence where he got his grandmother and did return to the scene as an ambulance arrived on the scene.
The bicyclist was dead at the scene. Deputies do not believe the driver was intoxicated. He is not in custody.
They are still trying to determine whether or not if speed was a factor in this crash and perhaps whether or not the man on the bike had all of the proper safety precautions on his bike.
The victim has not been identified.
