I rode along the Columbia Tap bikeway last night after reading this post and checking the details at the City of Houston's bikeways map page. I was very, very impressed that Houston has installed a dedicated bikeway (rather than sharing the bike path with cars).
It really is a great and safe way to get from the Medical Center into Downtown. As Tony says, the bikeway is not complete at the I-45 intersection as the re-bar is still sticking out of the concrete. I wonder when this will be completed?
A great step in the right direction for Houston. Keeps cars and bikes separate and provides for a very pleasant way to traverse Houston from North to South.
