I know what you mean by the wind. It seems like it channels through the bayou at times, it's killer on the way back home sometimes. That red light is annoying but yea, San Jacinto works great for bicycle commuting. Except for the first time when I didn't pay attention to the trolly tracks and hit the pavement  ha!
Actually I've been trying to figure out which bus to use if I ever need a ride. So 265 has bike racks? I need to find out if I can catch 265 in downtown or off the bayou somewhere.
Thanks for info on the bus! Maybe I'll catch ya on the bayou sometime. I wear my astros jersey religiously so I'm pretty easy to pick out. I start around 4:45-500 am.
