Because of the distances involved between your destinations (from UH to Katy Fwy and Hwy 6 with you sort of in the middle in Spring Branch) you really need to be thinking about using your bike and METRO in combination, or else you're going to be totally exhausted all of the time. Your bike is not a car... YOU are the engine!

There are a bunch of bike routes in SB. Here's the system map:

There are some buses that run along Memorial Drive that go east and west. The #131 will put you to Downtown or put you to Hwy 6 and Memorial. From both of those places it's nuthin' to bike ride to your final destinations.
Use front AND rear lights at night! Light colored or reflective clothing items! A helmet! Ride with traffic!
