Is there a bike map of the Houston area ? - 2005/08/22 20:14 Hi - I'm from out of town (San Jose, CA) and may work short stints in Houston over the next few months. Is there any map available that denotes bike friendly streets and/or streets to avoid ? I am thinking of something like this :

http://www.vta.org/schedules/VTA_Bike_Map_01Jul02.pdf

or this :
http://www.sfbike.org/download/map.pdf

(beware - these are large files !)

Neither are perfect maps, but they are a great start for someone who is unfamiliar with the area.

Thanks,
Bart Thielges

Go here, the downloadable bikeway map in PDF format is quite good.

Re:Is there a bike map of the Houston area ? - 2008/06/24 23:20 The link has moved to:

http://www.publicworks.houstontx.gov/bikeways/maps.htm

but it seems to be a bit out of date (2006). Anyone know a better place to look?

Thanks.

Re:Is there a bike map of the Houston area ? - 2008/06/25 14:39 I think that's the only City of Houston street map. There are Energy Corridor maps at EnergyCorridor.org, and off-road trail maps at ThePArkPeople.org
