West Alabama Bike Lanes to be Detoured |

As many of you are aware, Mr. Rick Grochoske of the City of Houston's department of Public Works and Engineering, announced on January 2 that the decision had been made to relocate the West Alabama Bike Route to Fairview. This detour will be instituted in the next few weeks, as West Alabama is currently being milled and overlaid. Many issues remain unresolved such as the start date of the Spur 527 closure, the restriping of West Alabama to accommodate the anticipated increase in traffic and the funding for traffic mitigation (the City has only $3 million of the $12 million that will be needed
