The following guidelines apply to all events to be posted on the BikeHouston events calendar.
(1) We will posts all rides/events (that are brought to our attention) that begin or end in the Houston area, defined as: Galveston, Chambers, Liberty, Montgomery, Harris, Waller, Fort Bend or Brazoria counties. (2) We will also posts other events/rides if the event/ride benefits BikeHouston ($1/rider or more) or is organized by a BikeHouston associate/corporate member
(3) Event/Ride postings must include verifiable contact information - at the minimum, an e-mail address
The main considerations in preparing this policy were (1) focusing limited staff and volunteer time on Houston-area events (2) making sure that local events aren’t “lost” amid the many out-of-town rides (3) being fair. We do want to promote cycling everywhere and we are aware that many Houstonians travel a long way to go riding.
We encourage both riders and ride promoters to visit other web sites that list out-of-town rides: www.BikeTexas.org and www.bicycletexas.com
