Refugees in Houston from the devastation in Louisiana and Mississippi need lots of help. While there are many ways to help, a few seem especially appropriate to draw your attention to: Hurricane Relief Ride September 7 CANCELLED
Mark Blackshear of Cyclone Cycles and his wife Rosemary are organizing a Hurricane Relief Ride for next Wednesday evening, September 7th. Rice University has already agreed to permit the use of their parking lot as a gathering spot. Mark and Rosemary have already collected an impressive amount of new clothing and are hoping cyclists will show up with gently used articles and canned food. We have actually cancelled the Hurricane Relief Ride. Mark at Cyclone Cycles and other bike shops in the area, received a total 200 bicycles from wholesalers. There are arrangements already made for the delivery of these bicycles. There will be some assembly required but I think we have that covered. I wanted to thank you anyway for your help in contacting a volunteer force. We will keep everyone posted if other developments occur.
