Expenses for the BikeHouston Moonlight Ramble include site and equipment rental, off-duty police officer traffic assistance, liability insurance, advertising, and give-aways (T-shirts, glow stick, etc.). However, most of your registration fee goes to making Houston (and Texas) a better place for biking.
The BikeHouston Moonlight Ramble is the principal fundraiser for BikeHouston.
Our ability to fulfill our mission and goals each year is highly dependent on the financial success of the Ramble. BikeHouston is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting safe cycling, and a better quality of life, in our region. Our programs in past years have included "share the road" advertising campaigns, helmet donations for disadvantaged kids, support of police bicycle patrols, and rallying cyclists to promote bikeways, bikes-on-buses, bayou trails, bicyclist representation in planning studies, etc. You can find out more about BikeHouston and how you can join us on this web site!
