Bring your bike for an evening ride along Buffalo Bayou to the Waugh Drive Bridge, where you’ll witness an unforgettable sight—more than 250,000 Mexican free-tailed bats emerging at sunset. Along the way, bat expert DeAndra Ramsey will share insights about these fascinating and important creatures—affectionately known as “sky puppies.”

Held every third Saturday from May-August, for Summer Species programming. Spots are limited, so reserve yours today!

Duration: 7:15-9:15 PM. Bike ride departs at 7:15pm and covers 3 miles in 2 hours.

Cost: $10 per individual

Please plan on arriving 15 minutes before the bike ride to allow time for parking. Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern. Overfill parking is available in City Lot H, located at 1643 Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77007, just to the east of Fonde Recreation Center.
