Join us for a bike ride to learn about plans for the future Alief Trail, a 5.2-mile trail that will connect Brays Bayou and Keegans Bayou.

BikeHouston, in partnership with Houston Parks Board, Harris County Precinct 4, and Neighborhoods to Trails Southwest, will host an exploration bike ride of the future Alief Trail. The bike ride will provide an opportunity for community members to interact with the project management team and Harris County Precinct 4, as well as learn about the alignment and design of the Alief Trail Project.

This ride will utilize city streets and make stops along the future trail route to talk specifics. Riders should bring their own helmet, water, and bicycle for the ride. Riders will meetup in the parking lot of the neighborhood center for a brief chat and bike safety tutorial before proceeding on the ride.

Join us at True Anomaly Brewing on Wednesday, November 19 at 6 p.m. for our bimonthly social. Meet our staff, members of our board, and other bike-minded Houstonians, enjoy a beer, and learn how you can get involved.

Join us to celebrate the memory of Rice University political scientist and former BikeHouston board member Bob Stein with a ride from Lawrence Park to the Rice campus and back. We’ll gather at 8:30 a.m. and roll out at 9:00 a.m. The ride is free to attend, but participants must register.

Join us at MECA (1900 Kane St) on Sunday, November 2 at 8 a.m. for a ride in honor of those who have been killed while riding bikes on Houston’s streets. Participants on the ride will visit crash sites which have been marked by ghost bikes.

Join us at The Grove in Downtown Houston for Soirée du Vélo, BikeHouston’s annual benefit.

Year after year, we host a soirée to bring together bike-minded Houstonians from across the Bayou City to celebrate the joy of traveling on two wheels. This year, in addition to great company, we’ll also have beer and wine, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, an awards program, and a DJ.

Attire: Festive/cocktail/bicycle chic (helmets optional!)

A seven-mile ride to raise awareness about refugee resettlement, engage the Houston community, and promote mobility. Ride with Refugees starts and ends at the BakerRipley Gulfton-Sharpstown Campus, and HPD will provide an escort. Non-riders are invited to enjoy the playground and kid-friendly Activity Fair sponsored by refugee-focused non-profits. Refreshments provided by H-E-B.

This free, family-friendly bike ride is open to all ages and led by BikeHouston, Nature Heritage Society, Fit Houston and GHORBA. Light snacks and water will be available. Free and open to the public.

The guided bike ride along the 4-mile Columbia Tap Hike & Bike Trail will be led and supported by avid birders and will involve educational material regarding:

• how to bird in an urban environment

• how to support birds you might find in your backyard (food, water, shelter)

• how public greenspaces can sustain bird & wildlife populations

Remember to bring a reusable water bottle! All riders are highly encouraged to wear a helmet, but riders under 18 are required to wear a helmet. Meet in front of Eado Bike Co. Bike rentals available at eadobikeco.com.

ADA Accessibility: Traversing the trail is possible using all forms of rolling mobility devices (bikes, tricycles, wheelchairs, etc).

Hosted by Houston Heights Association, the 20th Annual Bicycle Rally & Scavenger Hunt is a fun way for riders of all ages to explore the Heights neighborhood. Signup to participate in either the 5-mile or 15-mile course and be eligible to win prizes from many local businesses. Choose your own pace and start anytime after 8:00 a.m. on Saturday; don’t forget to submit your scavenger hunt clues by 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

BikeHouston will be celebrating at the After Party Sunday afternoon - which is free and open to the public, even if you did not ride. Enjoy free food, drinks, live music, and family-friendly fun!

Join Southwest Houston Redevelopment Authority/TIRZ 20, Harris County Precinct 4, Houston Parks Board, and Southwest Management District from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a ribbon-cutting to celebrate completion of construction on the first phase of the Sharpstown Trail. The event will take place on the front lawn of Iglesia Elohim (8600 S Gessner Dr., Houston, TX 77036), next to the CenterPoint Energy easement where the trail is located, and features free food & refreshments, live music and family-friendly fun.

BikeHouston will be on hand to host valet bike parking and lead an inaugural bike ride suitable for riders of all ages.

Bike to Work Day is a unified day of celebration across the United States where the nation comes together to celebrate the bicycle and to rethink how we commute to the places we live, work, and play.

Celebrate Bike to Work Day with BikeHouston and the Energy Corridor District on Thursday, May 15 with a ride starting at the Terry Hershey Gazebo! Come for the donuts and coffee, stay for good conversation with other bike commuters in the area!

You can just show up, or you can join a group riding in from several common origins for Energy Corridor area bike commuters.
